One of the things I find most interesting about the work I do on statistics for the blogs is seeing what people are googling when they find one of my blogs or mom's... 

Several folks out there have found the Ochorific Song o the Day by googling "we built this city radio announcer".  That's a tidbit I didn't look into when posting

I almost came back in with Waylon Jennings today after hearing an interesting tidbit over the weekend, but I found a discrepancy when I went to research it online, so I'm holding off for a bit...  I guess it's a good thing I didn't ... two country songs in a row and someone may have sent in the paramedics...

Wow ... my last post for the Ocho-rific Song o' the Day was Monday, June 6, 2011!!!  

As always during these hiatuses I've wandered through my drafts at least 4,000,000 times trying to get my wick lit again and I just
couldn't seem to do it ... But my wick is relighting rather well on lots of things these days and though I STILL have a LOT of catching up and a LOT of crow to eat in some cases, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel brighter than I've been able to see in years...

Well, it looks like I'm finally developing a better formula for the posting of the Ocho-rific Song o the Day.  It's 8:40 am as I write this and a while ago I posted the video for today on my FB profile with a little paragraph about why I had chosen the song.

This little re-run project has really given me a chance to look at the importance of things such as titles!  A title is a tough thing to come up with ... sometimes if it's a "popular and loved" song, I think the best thing to do would be to put
the actual song title and artist name in the title of the blog - but my statistics tell me differently ... with the highest read blogs in the Ocho-rific's history being those with mysterious titles.  So ... now you know ... if you're a blogger, regardless of the topic - you must remember that titles are important ... as are tags.  You'll be able to read more about blog readership strategies as well as all sorts of other marketing tid-bits when I re-open Confessions of a Marketing Consultant later this year.

04/25/2011 - A Week of Ocho-rific Repeats Begins!

Good morning and Happy Monday!!  I hope you've all made it in one piece through the round of storms that've been battering our neck o the woods for the last few days.  If you don't already, I highly suggest that you follow Beau Dodson Weather on Facebook.  He is passionate about the weather, which leads to very detailed coverage.  He definitely gets my vote for FAVE weatherman!

Happy Valentine's Day and Whatnot friends.  
I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day. 


I've been in a state of total inertia as far as getting the Mushtastic Month of February going on the Ocho-rific.  I'm
mentally and emotionally worn out to be perfectly honest with you ... all 200 or so of you :)  You've felt that way though.. every single one of you understand..so why not tell the truth :)
