The life I love is making music with my friends...

Born just 10 days late, on April 30 of 1933 in Abbott, Texas - He's a Taurus, he's the father of seven children (6 of whom are living) and is currently married to his 4th wife ... He wrote Patsy Cline's Crazy; he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1993, the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Texas Film Hall of Fame in 2002 ...

He's not only a songwriter and musician, but an amazing activist - he along wtih John Mellencamp and Neil Young organized and
I could give you a million reasons why I like Willie Nelson ... but I'd rather tell you that today's Ocho-rific Song o' the Day is absolutely, unequivocally one of the GREATEST upbeat hits of all time and perfectly defines my current feelings on the relaunch of the Ocho-rific Song o the Day...

It was written on the spur of the moment in a meeting between Nelson and the producer of the movie Honeysuckle Rose. The producer asked Nelson to write a song for the movie. When Nelson asked the producer to clarify his request, the producer asked for a song about traveling. Nelson suggested something that started with the line "On the road again." The producer nodded his head in support and Nelson ad-libbed the rest of the song before he got out of his chair.  from Songfacts.com

The song was released with Nelson's 1980 album Honeysuckle Rose, reaching the first position on Billboard's top country albums, while it ranked twenty on the Billboard Hot 100.[8] Nelson received a Grammy Award for Best Country Song, while he was nominated for Best Original Song during the 53rd Academy Awards.[9] In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked it No. 471 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.[10] In 2011, "On The Road Again" was inducted to Grammy Hall of Fame.  from the Wiki

And now, for today's
Ocho-rific Song o the Day...

On the road again -
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is making music with my friends

And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again

Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again

And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again -
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends.
Insisting that the world keep turning our way

And our way
is on the road again.
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is makin' music with my friends

And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again

Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends

Insisting that the world keep turning our way

And our way
is on the road again.
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is makin' music with my friends

And I can't wait to get on the road again.
And I can't wait to get on the road again.

::Extra Goodies::

When the IRS seized his possessions to sell at auction to try and collect money to pay his tax debt, many of Willie's fans bought his stuff and then gave it back to him. (It's been said that the fans did this as a way of saying thank you for all the free concerts Nelson performed in support of Farm Aid). The only major possessions not seized by the IRS was Willie's guitar and his tour bus so he could earn a living.

Willie's eco-friendly tour bus is called the "Honeysuckle Rose IV" and runs on a variety of biofuels.  His company, Willie Nelson Biodiesel, markets biodiesel biofuel to truck stops.

He owns a selection of about 15 guitars, but the one he plays mostly on tour, is his Martin acoustic which he refers to as "Trigger," named after Roy Rogers's horse.
