::from SongMeanings.net::
Why, you wanna tell me how to live my life?
Who are you to tell me if it's black or white?
Mama can you hear me? Try to understand.
Is innocence the difference between a boy and a man.
My daddy lived the lie, it's just the price that he paid.
Sacrificed his life, just slavin' away.

Ohhh, if there's one thing I hang on to,
It gets me through the night.
I ain't gonna do what I don't want to,
I'm gonna live my life.
Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice,
Standing on the ledge, show the wind how to fly.
When the world gets in my face,
I say, Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day

Take a look around you, nothings what it seems
We're living in a broken home of hopes and dreams,
Let me be the first to shake a helping hand.
Everybody, pray enough to take a stand,
I knocked on every door, on every dead end street,
Looking for forgiveness,
what's left to believe?

Ohhh, if there's one thing I hang on to,
It gets me through the night.
I ain't gonna do what I don't want to,
I'm gonna live my life.
Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice,
Standing on the ledge, show the wind how to fly.
When the world gets in my face,
I say, Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day.

Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day.

When The world keeps trying, to drag me down,
I've gotta raise my hands, gonna stand my ground.
Well I say, Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day
Have A Nice Day

::WIKI "FACTS"::

 *Bon Jovi's first single off the 2005 album Have a Nice Day. It was first performed at the 2004 American Music Awards, where an incomplete version of the song was played. The final version of the song was first performed in full at the Philadelphia Live 8 concert on July 2, 2005, and released worldwide as a single the following month. It was written by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, and John Shanks

*The music video was directed by Eric Hirshberg and produced by Janice Biggs and John O'Grady. The music video of Have A Nice Day begins when the band arrives in a GMC Yukon in front of a crowd of the fans. Jon draws a smiley on the album cover of the corresponding album for one of the fans in the crowd. The guy takes a photo of the album cover with his mobile phone and sends it to all his friends. Soon the red face pops everywhere. We see Jon, Richie, Tico and David in New York throughout the video. After the second verse, we see Bon Jovi performing at Irving Plaza. At the end of the video we see Bon Jovi leaving with a helicopter. The video is similar to the music video for "Where Is the Love?" by the Black Eyed Peas (released 2003), and a famous 2002 UK television advertisement for T-Mobile.

*"Have A Nice Day" charted at #2 in Sweden, #6 in the United Kingdom, #7 in Germany, #8 in Australia, #8 in Finland, #10 in Switzerland, #10 in Japan, #53 in the United States (Billboard Hot 100) and #38 on the US Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

::from SongFacts::
*"This song is about overcoming adversity - the "Have A Nice" day refrain is a bit ironic. Jon Bon Jovi wrote the song after George W. Bush was reelected as US president in 2004. Bon Jovi campaigned for his opponent, John Kerry, and although he was disappointed that Kerry lost, he wanted to make sure those who disagreed with Bush continued to fight."
