John Carpenter interviewed by Mark Kermode for Halloween's 21st Anniversary. 1999.
I have a lot of folks to say that they don't have time to watch the video ...
sometimes the video's all there is ...
this is one of those times :)
The video is worth it ... break it up into three java breaks over the next few days and you'll have it knocked out and have all
sorts of behind the scene info and tidbits floating around in your noggin!!
_____
Video 1 - 9:55 - Covers How Halloween first came about as a project, including the kahoo-hoo-breaking deal that John Carpenter required to do the film (Hats off, John Carpenter!), how the actors were selected and how John Carpenter developed such a frightening score.
Video 2 - 9:43 - Covers the filmwork, music and behind the scenes of the movie with clips included.

Video 3 - 8:21 - Continues the filming discussion from video 2 and includes Carpenter's thoughts on the sequels. *note to the reader, many sequels and none of the remakes had been released at the time this interview was done, however I do agree with Carpenter ... "None of the sequels have hurt the original."
Until next time...
Have a Grand and Groovy Day!!
