I'm running a little behind this morning, folks ......
Surpriiiiiize, Surpriiiiiize, Surpriiiiiize
(that's supposed to translate as "Gomer Pyle") :)
I had a tremendous visit last night with someone I consider to be one of my dearest friends on the planet and the one who first
got me interested years ago in all of the little details and connections in music. An hour felt like fifteen minutes as we chatted about concerts, pop culture, people and life ... those visits are like therapy for me. ..and that's what friends are for. :)
One of our many music related discussions last night was about the Beatles, primarily Lennon and McCartney and what an enormous influence they were and still are on all things music related.
Anywho, when I woke up this morning and clicked on YouTube, this song was there on my home screen ... being suggested by the universe. :)
I'm going to give you the video and the lyrics now and I'll be back to fill in some details this evening. Some of the commentary online seems to imply that this song was directed at Paul McCartney .... Other commentary says it's just a song about karma.
I don't know that there are more inspirational words than ...
"We all shine on ... Like the moon and the stars and the sun"
Instant karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
You better get yourself together
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead
What in the world you thinking of
Laughing in the face of love
What on earth you tryin' to do
It's up to you, yeah you
Instant karma's gonna get you
Gonna look you right in the face
Better get yourself together darlin'
Join the human race
How in the world you gonna see
Laughin' at fools like me
Who in the hell d'you think you are
A super star
Well, right you are
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Ev'ryone come on
Instant karma's gonna get you
Gonna knock you off your feet
Better recognize your brothers
Ev'ryone you meet
Why in the world are we here
Surely not to live in pain and fear
Why on earth are you there
When you're ev'rywhere
Come and get your share
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
Come on and on and on on on
Yeah yeah, alright, uh huh, ah
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
On and on and on on and on
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on
